Wyatt's fabric

While shopping for Velcro at hobby lobby (with the kids... What was I thinking!?!), Wyatt spied this fabric & had to have some of it. I asked him if he wanted pj's or a quilt made of it. He quickly said, "A quilt!"

Who can argue with that?

My New Pincushion

My new pincushion, originally uploaded by nkiblueeyes.

Somewhere on Pinterest, I saw a pin cushion like this one. It's got elastic & goes around the machine. I filled mine with crushed walnut shells & whipped it together really quickly from a scrap of one of my favorite prints. Should be pretty handy & is certainly portable. I like it.

I have been avoiding blogging for no particular reason. I post pictures regularly on Flickr and Facebook of what I've been up to, but haven't taken the time to blog... The point of making this blog is to document the things I've sewn... So...

I'll be posting some things I've done over the last several months to catch up. Stay tuned!

Still Busy, Just Not Blogging

Not much time to type, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.  Here's a slice of our life over the past couple months:

We made robots out of soda cans

Visited Wonderscope a lot

We head to Barnes & Noble to catch up on good books, play trains & build things with blocks.

We visited Texas and Arkansas and saw our cousins, aunts, uncles & grandparents. 

Got in a little fabric shopping 

Had our first boat ride in Austin 

Celebrated my 38th birthday

Snuggled with cats

Finished this spider web Quilt of Valor top

Learned lots of new things on our iPads

Got a new swing set at Granddad's

Grew some nice vegetables!

Canned some salsa

Snuggled cats some more 

More visits to Wonderscope

Had a little fun

Made a new block for my bee

And more stuff, too.  

I will try to do better about blogging now that school has started.  I have a little bit of me time now. :)

Lately

Here's what I've been doing

Hooded towels

These are on my to do list, too. I want to make the boys hooded towels that are big. The ones we have aren't big enough to really wrap up in.

These are at Wonderscope. It's our local children's museum.
